Skillnets is an enterprise-led publicly funded body, established in 1999 to support the development of workplace skills as a strategic response to increase competitiveness and employability in Irelands changing economy.
Skillnets key stakeholders include national employer and employee bodies such as IBEC, SFA, CIF, Chambers Ireland and ICTU. Skillnets works in partnership with networks of enterprises across the country enabling the identification , development and implementation of innovative training programmes under the initiative of the Training Networks Programme (TNP).
Ability Software developed the 2nd version of the SKILLNETS ACTIVITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SAM). The SAM system is used to manage the training networks supported by Skillnets.
The brief for the enhanced version of SAM was as follows…
“Skillnets are to apply new rules to how the networks are administered during the new programme (2008-9). These changes impact how SKILLNETS ACTIVITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM is currently handling certain functions. The primary purpose of this project is to adapt the current version of SKILLNETS ACTIVITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM to support these changes”
